Studies have shown that pre-school education conducted outdoors, rather than mainly indoor play, is more effective at promoting children’s emotional well-being and confidence, attention and concentration skills, and their language and communication skills.  It naturally helps children’s physical well-being and health,  balance and co-ordination, as well as their problem solving skills.

The pre-school has a large and open grass area in which we provide a variety of resources to enhance a wide range of skills. We encourage the children to extend their play outside everyday and make the most of the space while developing their physical abilities, co-ordination and balance. In the outdoor environment the children also have opportunities to develop their awareness of the weather through experiencing different conditions and their knowledge of insects and plants.

The pre-school also has a qualified Level 3 Forest School Practitioner and runs a weekly Forest School outing to local woods, full details can be found by downloading the Forest School Handbook here.
